As described. The author has promise. The book includes moderately written explicit sexual scenes for its length. The story line is somewhat improbable in a few places. I found the contradictions to be a little distracting. The final showdown was suspenseful which is why I gave 3 stars. But to me, the vague consequences left the end disappointingly hollow. Leesa is hiding out from an abusive ex-husband on a holiday island. Kaydyn part owner of the restaurant she is working in has desired her for a long time. The characters are well fleshed out and believable and despite it being a relatively short read. Then there is truth or dare an erotic game which turns more erotic as the night goes on. Then a ghost from Leesa's past returns trying to fracture everything she holds dear. A suspenseful, erotic and quick read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This book was hot! I had real trouble putting this book down until I'd finished it. The characters & the friendships were well written & interesting. The relationships were so intriguing at times I wasn't sure what was going to happen. When the damaging secret comes out my attention did waver a bit - I found Kaydyn a bit needy & Leesa unwilling to trust someone who has earned her trust over time. Overall, a great sizzling read. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
I don't write reviews often but I had to for this book. The first half of this book was great. Full of wonderful characters and some hot sex scenes. But the last half just ran on and on with unbelievable dialogue that just repeated itself and one word that Hank kept repeating was totally unnecessary. If the whole book had been like the first part and if Kayden would have been more of a man and less wussy it would have been much better.
This book was a truly amazing and passionate book. filled with deep friendships, loyalty, and love. Leesa was hiding from her past, vulnerable, strong yet afraid, passion held deeply inside, and had a fun loving and playful side. Kaydyn was strong and passionate yet tender and patient. With four alpha males, strong, patient, and loyal, Leesa should have been able to relax and ride out the storm in this island paradise. Unfortunately, past abuse and trauma leaves her scared and unsure of her surroundings as well as herself. Knowing that Leesa was in need of her friends brought out the protective side of Dusky, Steven, Mark, and Kaydyn. These friends have been through a lot together and plan on pulling her through this hard time in her life to enjoy many future times of love and friendship. They find that to fight off an enemy along with the past that they are stronger together. Their vulnerability shows but strengthen them when they share the truth with each other. While love is sweet and passionate, one man has a contained anger when his woman is threatened and is outraged at her past hurts. What will he do to make her world right again?
I highly recommend reading this amazing story. When an old game of Truth or Dare takes a new twist, it is definitely grown up play time. The game is grown up, sensuous, yet emotionally dangerous! The characters interact wonderfully and show loyal friendships. Long awaited love blossoms during uncertain times but will it conquer all? Can love overcome evil? I highly recommend reading to see what happens. I voluntarily reviewed and advanced reader copy of this book.
After fleeing an abusive relationship, Leesa lands in the Bahamas with a job managing a local restaurant. A bad storm finds her trapped in the restaurant overnight with her four hot co-workers. To pass the time they decide to engage in a very adult version of the game truth or dare.
Kaydyn has had a crush on Leesa for years. He knows she has been hurt in the past, but not to what extent. He doesn't intend to let a night trapped together pass without making Leesa his.
This is my first book by this author. In the beginning I felt like the story moved a little slowly. About midway through the pace picked up and the story really improved.
